The Permanent Secretariat of the Political Bureau of the Workers’ Party informs public opinion that Louisa Hanoune is kept in provisional detention. The Military Tribunal of Blida has just rejected, today, Monday 15 July 2019, for the third time, the request for provisional release formulated by the collective of lawyers of Louisa Hanoune, the first head of a political party to be imprisoned for her political positions since the end of the national tragedy.

Louisa Hanoune, political detainee, arbitrarily arrested and locked up since 9 May 2019, thus begins her third month in prison. As her lawyers indicated, the general secretary of the PT presents all the guarantees to be provisionally released and remain at the disposal of the courts.
The keeping of Louisa Hanoune in prison is a part of the new offensive by the authorities against democracy and freedoms. The keeping of Louisa Hanoune in prison, like that of the Mujahid Lakhdar Bouragaâ and tens of prisoners of conscience, heralds a turn in the new era opened this past 9 May with her incarceration.

The PT and the National Committee for the Liberation of Louisa Hanoune will incessantly meet to study the ways and means to strengthen and enlarge the mobilisation in the field of democracy to demand and obtain the immediate and unconditional release of the general secretary of the PT. Freedom for Louisa Hanoune! Freedom for Lakhdar Bouregaâ! Freedom for all the prisoners of opinion!
